"Endoscopy Unit staff were all very pleasant"

About: Borders General Hospital

(as the patient),

I recently attended the Borders General for an endoscopy ( a tube inserted down the throat with as camera on the end for a look around the oesophagus and stomach area).

I was somewhat apprehensive, but a nurse explained the procedure carefully to me and I was offered a throat spray or a mild sedative.

I chose the sedative. I experienced no discomfort or distress and the whole procedure was completed very quickly. I hope this will reassure any patient who may have an upper endoscopy in the future.

The staff were all very pleasant attentive and I would like to thank them very much for their kindness to me.

Dear Belindabravo, Thank you so much for letting us, and any other patients who may need to have the same procedure, know about your good experience. I will pass your comments on to our Endoscopy staff who I know will be very appreciative of your comments.

Kind regards.
