About: St Michael's Hospital (Bristol)

Anything else?

Portishead Porters is a voluntary organisation. We transport patients from Portishead to hospital outpatients appointments at the hospitals in the Bristol Area. Our drivers use their own cars. North Somerset Council have issued us with Organisational Blue Badges to help with parking when transporting disabled patients.

On 17 June 2010 on of our drivers was transporing such a patient and parked on the double yellow lines in Southwell Street. She received a parking ticket from TPS Parking Soluntions Ltd. Whilst they have agreed to refund the fine they advise that Southwell Street is a private road and therefore normal Blue Badge concessions do not apply. If this is the case can you please arrange for appropriate sinage to be fixed to the walls so that other drivers are not caught out in a similar manner.

Many thanks.

Secretary

Thank you for your comments and we apologise for any inconvenience caused. We would encourage external organisations to contact the Trust direct with regards to operational issues, rather than use NHS Choices as a means to do this. Nevertheless we have passed on your comments to our Facilities department. Thanks again.
