What I liked
The process of turning up to A&E to being seen, diagnosed to then being put in a ward was actually a pretty efficient. I have waited for 10 hours at other hospitals but this was more like 3 and it was only that long because i waited for some blood samples. Wards were clean. Staff were on the large very patient and happy. Pretty much what i would expect.
What could be improved
Im going to change the question "What could have been improved" to "What i didnt like" instead. As i have outlined above...the service i received was actually pretty impressive and overall i am happy. But here are some further comments worth making....
On one occasion whilst waiting for a chest x-ray i witnessed a poor girl who had been left on a bed on her own in the waiting room vomiting on herself for about 5/6 minutes before being seen to.
On my second night in the ward, after just getting to sleep i was awoken and moved at 2am to another ward which i wasn't impressed with as i was trying to rest.
Food often turned up tepid/cold
I had been communicated to by 3 different doctors 3 different days i would be leaving. As a patient you really do hold on and look forward to them days you are told you will be going home. Better off under promising and over delivering!
I witnessed an argument between nurses due to long hours and on nurse actually refused to serve patients dinner due to this and walked out.
The car parking for visitors is ridiculous. Over a 4 day period a relative spent £40 just on parking. And that was just one visitor. Sort this out please!
As i said. Pretty happy overall but thought you would appreciate some feedback with some things that bothered me a tad.
