"Had to explain my situation to 4 different Doctors"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a service user),

Poor information provided, poor waiting environment in a&e, sat on chairs in a converted booth when thought to have a blood clot on my lung.

Seen by four different doctors to whom I had to explain my situation again.

Moved to meau which was god awful. Little Information given of treatment or expected time scales and my biggest concern no access to drinking water you are reliant on a hca topping up your flask. I had been told at discharge from mat unit days earlier to drink at least four litres a day to help with recovery I nearly managed one!

Dear Skiptaz

Thank you for raising your concerns via Care Opinion.

I am sorry that you did not have enough access to drinking water.

We now recognise that there is an issue and we are currently looking at ways in which a water fountain can be installed on the unit.

Kind Regards

Wendy Rojas

Dear Shiptaz

Thank you for taking the time to post your concerns, feedback is important to us and is valuable in assisting us to improve the service.

I am sorry that you found the waiting room to be a poor environment. We realise that the area is more compact than we would like and have had issues with providing sufficient seating. I apologise that at the time of your attendance we did not have sufficient capacity to offer you a cubicle space.

When the doctors assess a patient in A&E they document their findings in the A&E record, this is always copied for the doctors on the Ward so again I apologise that you felt you were having to repeat yourself to several health professionals.

Regards

Karen Hansord – A&E Sister
