"Nurses Were Prompt"

About: Russells Hall Hospital

What I liked

Nurses Were Prompt

What could be improved

Could have been put in the picture about delays

Anything else?

I arrived at russells hall outpatients department 6th july 2010 at 5.30pm for an appiontment at 5.55 pm. At 7pm i went to appointment desk and said i couldnt wait any longer as a patient who had 5.30 appointment was only just going in and there was another one before me so i said can i rebook when there is someone to see me. All it says on my appointment is there may be a delay if i had to have tests before hand but nothing about the possible wait of around 2hrs for the actual appointment itself. One Woman had been waiting since 4.30 and they were calling people in with later appointments.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments. We always endeavor to keep waiting times to a minimum; however we do sometimes experience delays in the departments due to the complexity of some appointments.

We have recognised that there are issues with our outpatient appointment system. We have recently introduced an outpatient management board to identify those issues, investigate them and implement solutions.
