arrived to visit patient during england/germany match. Found 2 nurses in front of TV set with volume turned up, surrounded by 4 elderly women patients, 3 asleep or trying to sleep, one suffering from dementia, confused and agitated by noise and calling our for help which she didnt get from the football loving nurses. When I complained at the reception desk I was told "Nurses have a right to watch football" and that the women had given permission - as though any of them, least of all the woman suffering from dementia was in a fit state to object! What is Royal Free policy about nurses watching football while on duty and imposing their wishes on patients?
