"The Shock Of Suspected Cancer"

About: Leicestershire and Lincolnshire Lincoln County Hospital / General medicine

(as the patient),

Since moving to Lincolnshire from Leicestershire I have had to go through the rigmarole of signing to a new dental practice and a new GP. As part of the new GP registration I was the subject of preliminary checks including blood tests. As part of the signing to the dental practice I underwent a dental checkup.

The blood test records identified an "abnormal liver", while the dentist as part of the checkup raised questions about white patches inside my cheeks and suggested that I referred them to my GP, which I did at the time of my appointment to talk about my "abnormal liver" results.

The GP looked at the white patches and referred me to a hospital consultation, this was on a Thursday and the Lincoln County Hospital set an appointment for the following Wednesday morning.

The consultant at the Lincoln County Hospital saw me and arranged for a biopsy sample to be taken the same morning.

All through this process I feel that I have been treated with absolute care and kindness at all times.
