I've been visiting the eye centre, physiotherapy and rheumatology departments.
Although every visit the doctors and nurses are great however upon exiting the doors of the hospital trying to get a doctor or a nurse to take responsibility for your care is a nightmare.
I was tested to check if I was able to start a bilogical treatment by the rheumatology dept. After three weeks I was left an answer phone message to call the rhuematology department. After three or four more answerphone messages and a couple of days I eventually spoke to a nurse who told me the doctors had had my test results and that the treatment had been prescribed after I probed them they unsurely told me I just needed to wait for HAH to be in touch. 3 weeks later I still had heard nothing and I'd left two messages on the rheumatology advice line that were never returned. I eventually got my prescription delivered but on the call where they arrange a nurse coming out to show you how to inject yourself they decided I was unable to have this treatment as I have been using eye drops (for four months and the rheumatologist was aware) and that I had to ask the eye doctor if i could proceed, I asked the eye doctor who said it was nothing to do with them (the nurse kindly laughed at this?) I then actually managed to get a rerun call from the rheumatology nurse who I had seen a few months ago who said that the nurse is wrong and that why they wanted to me start this treatment in the first place so I needed to contact HAH. I spoke to health care at home who can't move the process forward any more. And I had to wait for a nurse to phone me today. I have still not had any phone call. I'm lost as to what to do anymore I have been in tears trying to arrange my own treatment most nights for weeks. It's been well over a month since my treatment had been prescribed and I am yet to start it. I'm just getting more and more sick and no one is willing to do anything to help. Everything has to be passed through me for some reason.
