"After cutting through a ligament ..."

About: Broomfield Hospital

What I liked

After cutting through a ligament on a Saturday I was made an appointment for Monday at 8am. After sitting for 2 hours and speaking to some other members of the public I realised that it was normal procedure in this hospital to be starved of foor and drink drive over an hour to get to the hospital, pay the high car park fees only to be told that no room today come back tomorrow!! Being self employed I need to work as no work no money, only told around 11am that I would be staying in overnight after saying that nobody had mentioned that and that I hadnt brought anything with me I was told "well you know now" so I now have to go and sit and wait tomorrow to see if they can do it tommorow.

Not good enough to be the only plastic surgery within the whole of Essex and only have 1 theatre!!!!!

Would recomend people go privatly as the NHS is a joke.

Was told that I would be offered water as a refreshment but after being there 2 1/2 hours and having to ask for tap water myself I do not call this "offering"

What could be improved

As they get there list early in the morning they should operate a sytem like the maternity wards, phone befor you come to see if they have a bed and theatre space for you. This would save unnecessary starving, ununnecessary babysitter, unnecessary trip to the hospital wasting my fuel & unnecessary parking fee.
