"My dad was admitted to C7 at Russells ..."

About: Russells Hall Hospital

What I liked

My dad was admitted to C7 at Russells Hall Hospital three times this year and on each occassion he was treated exceptionally well. Unfortunately my dad passed away on the 24th May. On this final admission my dad was moved to a side room and not only him but all of my family were treated by staff who made this traumatic event in our lives no harder than it had to be.

We were allowed to stay with my dad around the clock, the family were allowed to visit at any time and becasue of this all of the people who were important to my dad were with him at the time he died.

Throughout the time we were there we were offered refreshments, food and given a bed so we could also try to rest. As a family we really have nothing to say which would be of detriment to this ward and can only find postives, the staffs hard work and dedication was obvious to us and for that we are always grateful.

Anything else?

I appreciate that people are scared when being admitted to hospital and the hospital itself often gets a bad press. Dont always believe what you read and dont have pre conceived ideas. If you are unfortunate to have to go to hospital, my hope is you receive exemplary care, as we did on C7. My dad would have been so pleased that we find comfort in the way the hospital maintained his dignity.

Thank you for taking the time to comment at this difficult time. We have forwarded your feedback to the Matron and ward staff.
