"Waiting for a screening pregnancy scan"

About: University Hospital Of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust

I attended the maternity scan department with my daughter and son in law. We arrived at 10.48 for an 11 am appointment. We were seen by sonographer at 12.10. The care and compassion shown by sonographer who had to deliver bad news was exemplary. But the long waiting time to be seen I feel was very poor. All that would be needed was a simple explanation of the waiting time when booking in. The last group of people who you would want to leave for a long time is nervous hormonal pregnant women with full bladders. I work at the same hospital and know how stretched we all are but an explanation only takes a moment of anyone's time. This review is to try and improve things not to criticise any individual or department.
