What I liked
All the staff from the ward cleaners to the consultants seemed to have my best interests and wellbeing at heart. I was for the most part treated with respect, my fears acknowledged and I was listened to. Importantly for me my questions were always answered fully, and rather than fob me off, if, a member of staff couldnt answer my query they would admit this and find me someone who could. I liked the feeling of being in the loop and kept abreast of the days goings on, not just left to feel like a patient encroaching on thier domain. I liked the staff ability to maintain a sense of humour even at busy and challenging times.
What could be improved
I think most of the areas that could be improved are those that are and have to be flexible e.g. ward rounds on time or the attendance of a ward doctor for non urgent or routine requests.
Anything else?
I was very sad to have to sit and listen to people (mainly visitors) making petty gripes about non essentials when they were being afforded a pretty excellent service.
