"My dads care"

About: Weston Park Hospital

My dad was admitted at western park. Bless him he was end stage with cancer but till end none of staff told us that my dad will be no more. He had cathertar in but he never wanted one we told the nurse but they didn't listen, the nurse said he's keep on getting up having cathertar he will relax in bed but dad was in pain when cathertar was inserted in. He passed away next morning the staff wasn't very nice they took so long to come when my dad was serious junior dr was called in but they didn't say anything, the doctor was still in room when my dad passed away but they didn't even say sorry I couldn't do much , the doctor had no sympathy as they're not going to die one day it was awful experience for me and my family as I heard western park hospital staff are kind and caring but having this experience I completely disagree .

Dear Tahira

I am so sorry to hear that your father appeared to be in pain at the end of his life and that the family were not treated in a sympathetic way at what was a very difficult time. This is certainly not what we want for our patients or their carers.

We would like to look into this and respond to you formally. To do this we will need further details from you. Could you therefore please contact our Patient Services Team who can be contacted by telephoning 0114 271 1976 or by emailing pst@sth.nhs.uk

Thank you.
