About: Basildon University Hospital / Accident and emergency

My older brother (43yrs old)has been ill Since jan17 with a chest infection and his GP would not refer to hospital, I took him to A&E, where he was seen very quick by a nurse who gave a blood test and then moved him to a different area of a&e, they took him for an X-ray and found out that all his major organs had a major strain on them and needed emergency treatment asap, the doctors and nurses were fantastic but sadly my brother passed away late that night as he developed a blood clot, the nurse that had been with him all day was caring and helped our family over this bad time, the nurse stayed well over their shift and she was just wonderful x the hospital was great, I have great respect for they treatment and care they gave my brother and for all the staff that helped us that day xxx thank you xxxx

We would like to offer our condolences on the loss of your Brother, we are pleased that the care he received during his final hours in the emergency department at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was good. We will forward on your kind words to the department concerned.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review at such a sad time.
