"After being advised I would be ..."

About: Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital

What I liked

After being advised I would be having my operation within 18weeks,I finally had my op.

after waiting 34 weeks.[and one failed admission] The night after my op.which was assumed to be straightforward,I started bleeding

profusely, and mentioned this to a member of staff. She said she would tell a Doctor.Nobody turned up,and the bleeding was getting worse.

Finally ,after six hours,I fainted and only then did

I receive attention.I know now that my artery had been damaged.

I still have 'flashbacks' to this day, especially after the trauma of having to return to the operating theatre for repair afterwards.

What could be improved

If only the Nurse on night duty could have carried out her job correctly I would not have had

such a traumatic experience

Very sorry to hear of your experience. It sounds like we feel short of the high standards we expect. We would encourage you to make a formal complaint so that we could follow this up formally and take any necessary action.
