Why is it that all other local hospitals offer free parking to Blue Badge Holders but not at the Lister?

Addenbrookes Queen Elizabeth 11 and Harlow all offer free parking. I use the Hospital regularly and I think the parking cost is extortionate

Thanks for getting in touch - when the plans for the multi-storey car park were being developed, we engaged with local groups representing those with disabilities (such as Hertfordshire Action on Disability), many of whose members are blue badge holders. In developing the new service, we were told that parking areas that were secure, with direct access to lifts and the main hospital, having additional wheelchairs on hand, access to help, protected from the elements and, above all else, having sufficient spaces for blue badge holders were key priorities if charging was to be made. The Trust delivered on those requirements, which means that parking for blue badge holders is so much easier now at the Lister than had been the case previously. Also those drivers who qualify for the National Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme are entitled to have the cost of their journey to hospital, including parking costs, reimbursed.
