I went to A&E in 2013 after an injury and was astonished at the attitude of the attending doctor. I had an injured shoulder but they questioned my mental health for a reason they would not tell me but the worst was that they asked me to speak English! This shocked me because English is my first language! They then arranged for an x-ray, gave me a couple of painkillers and told me to leave as I did not know how I should be reacting to the injury, again making some reference to their perceived reasoning to my mental health condition. It turned out that I had a very serious injury which after fighting NHS Fife for two and a half years late had the appropriate operation in 2015. So now I am left with a disability which if it had been spotted when I went to the A&E I would not be in the condition I currently find myself in that I have maybe 60% use of my arm. So if you know what is wrong do not let then fob you off.
