"Stay clear of this place"

About: Whipps Cross University Hospital / Neurology

This hospital should carry a health warning. My mother has had the misfortune to be there for the past two and a half months and her family, friends and I are all shocked and totally disillusioned with every aspect of the so-called "care". There is not sufficient room here to describe all the issues, but let's just say that promises were broken, carelessness and laziness was rife, cleanliness was very poor and most specifically, the buck was passed continuously. Bullying of the patient's family, inaccuracies in form-filling and assessments were commonplace and the ward itself (Peace Ward) was a disgrace to set eyes upon with its chipped paintwork, stained walls, and faeces and fluff under the beds. Every time one asked to see a doctor or physio, the answer was always "they are in a meeting" - and as for the discharge staff, they simply do not merit mention. "Care and compassion" does not come into it - more likely "money and poor management". If you even half care about someone, don't go to Whipps Cross if you can help it.
