"The area I was in was very clean ..."

About: Marie Stopes International Preston Centre

What I liked

The area I was in was very clean and both the nurse and counsellor were very friendly, and seemed to do their best to make me feel more at ease, making conversation.

What could be improved

My only complaint is about the actual doctor I saw. Before any treatment could go ahead, he asked me questions about my health and filled in the answers on his computer.

He seemed to be trying to get the questions out of the way as quickly as possible, cutting me off mid-sentence and moving on to the next question at times, so that some of my information will have been incomplete. He also made assumptions of what medications I might be on, and seemed annoyed when I told him the right answers and had to delete what he'd typed.

I had also been to see an out of hours GP 4 days earlier about something directly involved in my reason for being at this clinic. I kept trying to explain what had happened, but was always cut off and in the end, I gave up as I began to feel stupid.

He also did not pass on any of what I said to the nurse who, after performing a scan, was quite confused because of this and I ended up having to explain everything to her, so that she could talk to the doctor about me.

Anything else?

I'd like to make clear that my only complaint is with the doctor I saw that day, everyone else I saw was great and did their best to make everything go as smooth as possible.
