I went first to minor injuries at Purley hospital having cut my hand on broken glass.
The staff at Purley could not deal with it as there were no X-ray facilities to check for glass in the wound.
I was bleeding heavily.
They bandaged my hand with many layers and told me to go to Croydon and gave me a letter.
At Croydon the triage nurse allocated me to go urgent care where I waited four and a half hours to be seen.
Many other patients were seen quicker as they had made appointments.
Some of these people did not appear In distress or discomfort.
I was not made aware that I needed to make an appointment and because I hadn't would be sent to the back of the queue.
eventually my hand was X-rayed the glass removed and my hand was stitched up.
Are patients expected to dial 111 and get an appointment when they are bleeding heavily?
There was so much blood it soaked a towel
