"Nothing at all."

What I liked

Nothing at all.

What could be improved

Staff communication. Being treated with dignity and respect. Getting diagnosed correctly. Cleanliness in A and E. Information when being told to visit another hospital. General politeness. Triage should never happen in the waiting area.

Anything else?

I was appalled when visiting Maidstone A and E after having given up on visiting my GP practice on three previous days in agony. At A and E I was spoken to rudely by the reception staff (sounded like they were doing me a favour). The triage nurse would not allow me any privacy when being triaged. In fact she was very rude and stated stroppily 'Ive got other patients so you can tell the doctors yourself! The first doctor I saw tried to send me home with an aspirin (my face was swollen on one side and I had a rash on my neck, I was also coughing up green mucus). I argued that this was ridiculous and finally got to see another doctor who imediately diagnosed pneumonia and a giant abcess which was tracking down my neck. I was told that I needed to be admitted to the Kent and Sussex in Tunbridge Wells. I had no idea how to get there and wasnt offered transport. The first 'aspirin' doctor then used an antiquated method to draw bloods (these had to be repeated as they had been done wrongly). A nurse was sent to administer a large volume of liquid through a canular. I had to ask what the liquid was! The nurse then continued administering the liquid whilst looking across the room and having a conversation with another nurse. The canular was tugging in my arm so I asked her to stop unless she looked at what she was doing. I left Maidstone hospital at 3pm and went to the Kent and Sussex. I then waited in the second A and E until midnight when I was finally seen and given a bed. I did not see a doctor at the Kent and Sussex until lunchtime the following day.
