My wife has dementia and we have been trying to get an appointment with the consultant for 12 weeks, we have finally got one for 3 weeks time. Every time we try to access any of the care services we are met with serious problems. We have been told this is because staff are working on multiple part time contracts for different Trusts because of a lack of funding for dementia services. Fund managers who allocate these funds need to realise that dementia is a 24 hour 7 days a week illness and they should try living with a dementia patient
