"Exceedingly professional surgeon, ..."

About: Claremont Hospital

What I liked

Exceedingly professional surgeon, anaesthetist, theatre staff and physios.

What could be improved

Nursing seemed sub standard. Was left alone for 4 hrs pre op and my procedure started 3 hrs after I was told it would. Would have been nice for someone to let me know what as going on. Also why do nurses hand out paracetemol as a pain relief immediately after reconstructive knee surgery? This is ridiculous and is not effective, consequently I had a very uncomfortable night and even then was only given paracetemol+codeine when I woke up in extreme pain. Was then given the same early the next morning and then given nothing at all after that. I eventually checked myself out the hospital at 3pm in extreme pain and had to go home and take something more substantial before I could get the pain under control.

Anything else?

Poor housekeeping in my room, had two full urine containers sit on my bedside table (where my meals were served) all night and well into the next day before they were moved by a member of the physiotherapy team and some spilled onto the carpeted floor!
