"A sense of hopelssness and abandonment"

I was referred to this service via my GP. Underwent initial assessement and suitability assessments, was put on waiting list in October/November time last year and was pre-warned of an approx wait time of 6 months just to get an appointment. Rang a few days ago to find out how much longer I would be waiting for an appointment. I was wrongly told that I'm not with IAPT, but with North Kirklees Community Therapies Team, who subsequently turned round and told me that I am with IAPT and not with them. Rang IAPT again to find out what on earth was going on, only to be told that because I'm under a psychiatrist that I'm no longer on their list.

Point of fact: I am not under a psychiatrist, I have attended a psychiatrist appointment purely for medication review purposes (my GP wouldn't increase my meds without the say so of a psychiatrist).

At no time have I been informed that I am no longer on the counselling waiting list.

I have patiently waited almost 6 months for a counselling appointment that never existed, to say I am dissapointed is a gross understatement. I have made phone calls and got false promises that they are aware and that someone will ring me back but never have done.

Hardly suprising that I feel a sense of hoplessness, abandonment and disallusion :-(
