The George Eliot always receives negative press.
My family's recent experience of that goes against that trend in every way.
My dad spent 4 weeks both on Nason and Alexandra Wards. The care he received was personal, comprehensive and without fault.
The health care professionals, no matter who they were, treated my dad with all the care and attention that he rightly deserved. Nothing was ever too much.
Indeed, they were always busy but never too busy to stop, chat and have a laugh with my dad. They saw how he liked the banter and contact with people. Sadly, my dad died on Alexandra ward only a few days ago. An impossibly hard time was made slightly more bearable by the care, unlimited time and compassion that every single member of staff gave us. Whilst my family is going through the hardest time you can't imagine, it's right to thank those people that helped my dad to pass away in the way he wanted. For that I am truly thankful.
Bless you all.
