About: Poole General Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat

I was referred to this department for a swelling in my beck. I was very worried. The consultant arranges an ultrasound and thoroughly examined me. They thought it was probably nothing to worry about but needed to rule out anything else. Very professional and nice manner.

The ultrasound was performed by a radiologist who was very very thorough and put my mind at rest with what they could see.

The follow up appointment just over a week later was with another doctor who, like the first, wonderful. They knew I was worried and had such a sincere smile! They went out of their way to explains why this swelling was there and to make me feel better about it all.

The staff, reception and nurses were all great. The seating area was full to the brim with some patients having to stand. I can't say what their experience was like but I was seen on time for each appointment. Excellent experience.

I am pleased, but not surprised, that you found everyone who treated you to be helpful and professional.

With regard to the lack of seating in the waiting area, we are very much aware of this problem in some of our clinics, which have had to 'grow' to accommodate all the patients who are referred to us.

This area is due for refurbishment pending the decision about whether Poole or Bournemouth Hospital is to be the Major Acute Hospital in the future.

I have passed your comments on to the teams who treated you as this kind of positive feedback certainly helps to maintain spirits in their very busy lives.
