"500 words are not enough to sing ..."

About: Spire Cheshire Hospital

What I liked

500 words are not enough to sing the praises of this Hospital, it's Staff and all the medical Nurses and Surgical Team. As a lifelong acting socialist I always saw the private health service as a threat to the NHS, so embarked on a very bad left side Inguinal Hernia repair with some embarracement and prepared to list all the faults i encountered. Having had an unpleasant right side repair many years earlier at Leighton Hospital I was going to be able to make real

comparisons despite the fact that Private pressures may not reflect the mass NHS ones.

In less than a month I had been assessed by the Surgical team, admitted, and was fully recovering after the operation.

My first experience was a free one acre parking plot. Then the most pleasant and interested reception staff and a Surgeon and Nurses who had no signs of superiority or self importance.

I told them I liked to be called Ron and that was what I was called throughout my stay.

I had three appointments and all were dealt with bang on time or earlier.

I had everything explained to me in great detail so I got no unpleasant surprises.

I was accomodated over night in a room which put some hotels to shame and I had a bed side button which actually had someone on the other end of it if I needed anything at all.

My right side repair had me in bed and out of action for up to nine weeks and the pain was shocking. This time I am managing much less pain with ease and already up and about keeping active. I keep saying to myself that there had to be something wrong with it all which I could have a moan about and I am still working on it, but slowly giving up,

If only we could all have our medical problems

dealt with across the NHS like I had mine handled at Spire Cheshire then we would truly have the National Health Service I believe we all deserve
