What I liked
The coffee.
What could be improved
My Mother was admitted to Lymington Hospital in January following several falls. The assessment and initial care was appropriate but hardly any better than the care she might have received at home had there been an adequate domiciliary care system in Hampshire. The professional care was inconsistent, with the real stars of the show being the physiotherapy team and the Occupational Team. The trouble is neither would have been involved had I not requested it. The real problem area is the preparation for discharge. The social worker is a complete jobsworth and totally disinterested in the patient, only interested in getting the minimum care package in place with the shortest time spent with the patient. The NHS should not be proud of this stumbling excuse of a hospital. It should be grateful that there are one or two people who work within the system who actually care about what they do and not simply turn up on shift to make up the number
Anything else?
Stop over managing and spend more money in good quality nursing and professional carers.
