"Excellent outpatient consultation"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres

(as the patient),

A routine appointment was a truly positive experience. Not only was the healthcare professional a good listener but he was diligent showed dignity and provided advice on another issue I have. I thought it was related to my skin cancer but he gave me reassurances and advice on how to deal with it via my GP.

It would be helpful to have more chairs in the waiting area.
On another note, I raised an issue a number of months ago about blank posters in the main outpatients waiting area a Hairmyres Hospital. I was advised that it was too difficult to maintain at the time and the blank posters/forms would be removed. Since then I understand that NHSL are closely monitoring DNAs and I am disappointed that this is not happening as it would help to educate the public of the cost and consequences of not attending.

Dear Basil,

Thank you for your positive comments in relation to your appointment, I shall pass these on to the staff within the department.

We continually review all aspects within the department on a regular basis to ensure the most effective service possible and I shall highlight your concerns regarding the lack of seating and also the thoughts re the posters.

Thank you once again for your feedback and best wishes.

Gordon
