"Finding Employment & Employment Help"

About: South West London And St George's Mental Health NHS Trust / Adult mental health

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I was referred to Mash  (Employment Specialist) by the Recovery Coach on the Central Wandsworth and West Battersea Community Mental Health Team.

I am absolutely astounded by the support I have received on my recovery journey.

I met Mash for the first time in a community setting and on my first session he listened to me attentively and took into consideration my needs. He enrolled me immediately onto a programme to help me back into paid employment quickly.

I met Mash the following week and within 3 days - I secured a job interview and was successful. Shortly after this, I secured a second job interview. I was successful at that interview. Mash managed to arrange an interview for me at Springfield where I met the employer and they liked me.

The Employment Service is absolutely 100% wicked.

My only caution to would be that if you are not ready for work- do not go to the Employment Specialist as he can get you into work quickly and you will end up getting interviews. It is not a play about service. It is serious! If you want a job, come to Mash.

Mash recently helped me enroll onto an SIA programme as I now want to go into security and want the appropriate training so I can start my career in this field - my ideal field of interest. In the mean time, I can be rest assured I have a job that I will be starting soon.

The Employment Team is brilliant- especially my Employment Specialist who got me interviews and got me onto various programmes, which helped to boost my confidence given my mental illness.

Mash saved my life and helped me so much.

I have never had such overwhelming response to my new CV Mash produced for me because the Job Centre do crap CVs, but Mash's CVs are the best CV I have ever had.

Thanks Mash.
