"After being seen within 1/2 an ..."

What could be improved

After being seen within 1/2 an hour of arrival I was told I needed an x ray. I was advised there was a long waiting list so take a seat.

After about another hour or 1 1/2 hours I was called back in told I was not going to get an x ray and sent home.

I went to my GP who refered me back for an x-ray.

Anything else?

I believe this decision was not based on medical opinion but either financial basis or to meet waiting time targets. The complaints proceedure appears to be a nightmare also.
