"NEP Colchester Crisis Center"

About: Community Mental Health Services for Colchester, Tendring and Outreach Service (MVA) for Suffolk

(as the patient),

I was assessed by a member of staff early in  April who spoke to me for 45 minutes and at the end of the assessment gave me a couple of internet searches and told me they would speak to another colleague and decide what help I need and would get back to me.

I have heard nothing since then and I tried to phone their emergency number for 20 minutes as I was suffering a panic attack, no one answered, their answering machine had a message to phone back later.

When I eventually got through I was greeted by a very sullen unfriendly voice who instead of honouring my request to speak to a counselor proceeded to take my details and advised me that I had been discharged as they had contacted my GP and advised the GP to prescribe medication, this was news to me as I had not heard from my GP either and told the member of staff so.  They carried on in a curt manner to more or less see my GP about it. I am in dire straits as I needed to speak to someone to help me. The reason for a crisis centre is to help people but unfortunately I did not experience any humanity from the person I spoke to or indeed any courtesy from the NEP.
