"I felt that I was listened to"

About: East Surrey Hospital / General medicine

(as a relative),

My Mum was a patient on Chaldon Ward for about a week and a half. I feel that she was well looked after and the staff that I came into contact were lovely. When I was upset, I was taken into a private area to talk and I felt that I was listened to and my concerns addressed. The Nurse was so kind and gave me the time I needed. Sadly, Mum passed away on the ward, but in her last few days she was given all the care and kindness she needed. The staff do a difficult job sometimes under difficult circumstances and people always seem quick to criticise but not so quick to praise when things go well. So, thank you to all you wonderful nurses and carers on Chaldon Ward - keep up your good work.

Dear Alices girl

Firsly please accept my condolences for the loss of your mother. Thank you for your positive feedback; I know that the team on Chaldon work very hard to promote a caring compassionate environment. I will pass your comments onto the team.

kind regards
