"Concerns over diagnonsis at Derbyshire Royal"

About: Florence Nightingale Community Hospital

(as the patient),

My 87 year old mother was taken by ambulance to the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary on Wednesday 19th December at approx 10pm.

She was taken to the emergency department following a fall on her left side, plus had vomited, at her residential care home.

At 1am some 3-4 hours later she was sent back to the home with a clean bill of health.

At approx 9.30am on Friday 21st December the care home called for an ambulance again. This time she was taken to the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham in agony where she is still recovering (31/12/07) from an almost full hip replacement operation.

Somewhere someone at the DRI seems to have made a very bad diagnosis of my mothers condition. Surely an 87 year old should have been admitted for observation at the very least.
