I went for an Ante-Natal booking appointment with my wife today and was disappointed with the service here.
Having waited over two hours to be seen, we saw a midwife who was flustered and flapping, had lost our notes ( as did it appear another patient waiting) , judged my ethnicity without asking, and spent most of our 2 hour appointment, telling us about her family, her flat (price!?!?) her church, her neighbours and left us feeling far from prioritised by her as a midwife.
My wife had to insist on telling her about prior history of miscarriage and she seemed to argue with us!!!
I think our feeling of the place was very much as we expected of a decent NHS hospital but the one to one service left a lot to be desired.
I felt it was important to share this information as it has left me quite unsure whether to have our first child at QCH and definitely quite unsafe in the hands of the midwife we saw.
