"Some of the medical staff were ..."

About: Medway Maritime Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

What I liked

Some of the medical staff were very friendly and helpful.

What could be improved

Communications between the different dept and doctors, nurses, consultants.

And more discussion and information for the Patient

Anything else?

I spent 6 hours in the A&E before seeing a Ortho Consultant, then spent another 4 hours in Obs ward, before being told I needed to be admited as they were concerned about my foot injury. It was finally agreed i could come back at 8.30am the nxt day. I arrived at A&E and gave information I was told to give and readmited to Obs ward.At 9 am I saw a team of Ortho consultants & doctors and told they were concerned it maybe my disc I would need an MRI scan and probably an operation. I had the scan at 11.15 am, Then was left sitting in corridor and finally at a bed until 4.30 pm when I was told it wasnt my disc and I needed to be an urgent referel to a Nurologist and to go home and wait for an appointment. A week later I still have no feeling in my foot cant lift it off the floor and rang up to be told hopefully I will be seen early in the New Year!!! But I can go back to A&E and go through the whole proceedure again if I am worried!!!
