"Injury to foot"

About: Newark Hospital

I dropped a can on my right foot and about a week later my foot became reddened, swollen and painful

I visited Newark Hospital Urgent Care Centre and within minutes of being booked in I was seen by a doctor who diagnosed that cellulitis had set in due to the impact injury.

As a precaution my foot was X- Rayed and no bones were found to be broken.

I was put on a seven day course of antibiotics and as I take Warfarin I had a blood test to check my INR rate.

I was given a further blood test three days later and the results were that my Warfarin doses had to be amended.

On completion of the course of antibiotics my foot was examined again and I was prescribed a second seven day course.

The initial visit was completed in under one and a half hours and the second visit was completed in under one hour which included the time for dispensing my medication.

I wish to express my thanks to all concerned from the receptionists, nursing staff,.doctors and pharmacist for their kindness and extremely prompt attention with special thanks to nurse whom I was attended by on two occasions.
