Two years ago Dr Rae and Mr Diamente discovered that I had a dreadful life threateningly infection in my ovaries. It was ward 6 or the pink ward where Dr Rae took time with me and listened.
The nurses on the ward were wonderful.
The pharmacist was very attentive to making sure my drugs and side effects were well balanced.
Everyone worked as a team and I do believe getting a smear test saved my life.
Now two years later I, now more menopausal than before spotted bleeding.
Dr Barbour immediately sent me for procedures.
Having already had a great consultation with an Nigerian doctor (sorry I can't spell his name)I was not at all hesitant to go back to the Lister Building.
There I met the wonderful Michelle and her team.
She knew my anxiety and fears.
Because women are born worriers and we say
How many lives has a cat?
And is it this time my life is up?
She explained what the next steps were.
Women. Children. Young Girls.
Go and get your smear test done.
Cancer and other diseases canbe cured, if caught early enough.
Michelle's and Dr Rae's team need to celebrated as best practice.
No one should go through cancer.
My two dearest friends are up on the hill in the cemetery.
Cancer will be and can be conquered.
You need to be vigilant and report abnormalities. Changes. Pain. Discomfort.
A problem shared is a problem halved.
Girls we must defeat this killer in our mist.
As for me.
Well I'm going to finish a book.
Perform puppet shows for children throughout the world.
And use the money to start preventative clinic.
Also I would like little Butts and Bens.
Little cottages throughout the world where people of all shapes and sizes but especially the working poor can go for holidays.
And my inspiration comes from Jesus
