"I have always liked and trusted ..."

About: St Mary's Hospital (HQ) (London)

What I liked

I have always liked and trusted St Mary's. There have been tremendous improvements to the hospital and standards of cleanliness are superb. Drs, Nurses, XRay,Physiotherapy and ancillary staff very knid and considerate. They also work extremely hard.

What could be improved

I wasn't an inpatient in Sept 2009 but on other ocassions when I have been I found the food disgusting and inedible. No care was taken in menu plannig, presentation or choice. A friend was recently an in patient, his meal came while I was visiting and I could see nothing had changed. I used to use one of the restaurants at the hospital or my wife would bring in food. I particularly remember a pice of liver that I think even a horse would have encountered difficulties with. The other improvement could be in tele communications. I think the new automatic switchboard is repulsive. I am alwalys being connected to wrong extensions. PLease may we have the supern telephonists answering as they did before. When given a choice I always choos operator as they are more than efficient and know exactly what they are doing. The installation of the automatic switchboard was a retrograde steep. Frankly I hate phoning the hospital.

Anything else?

Overall apart from my two grumbles above, St Mary's is absolutely superb.
