After waiting weeks for an appointment following major heart surgery and months of pain after I was delighted to get a letter after referral by my GP for a specialist Cardiology Assessment from DRSS NHS. Following the instructions on the letter I duly rang only to experience what felt like the worst system ever as I am now into a further 2 week run around as no one can tell me when my appointment is. I have rung all the numbers I have been given and spoken to 5 different people who it is appears are unable to help me so here I am on a daily basis hoping I have not missed the appointment I know nothing about and feeling worse every day.

I’m sorry to hear that you are still waiting to hear about your cardiology appointment, and for the pain and anxiety this is causing you.

Derriford Hospital are currently running waiting lists for most cardiology services which means that they will be in touch with you with the details of your appointment. However, without further information I can’t provide you with any accurate information.

If you would like me to look into the situation for you further please could you either call me on 07971 149 644 or email me on rachael.burridge@nhs.net. I am only in the office today but will monitor my calls and emails so that one of my colleagues will be able to look into your referral for you.
