My mam was admitted into this hospital on the 8th march with a chest infection. She then subsequently had 3 fur admission .Each admission my mam was give anti-biotics and sent to the community hospital.Mam was also admitted to North Tees Hospital in between these admissions. On her last admission when we finally got to speak to doctors the family where told mam had several serious physical problems that where there on first admission that where not addressed at the time.
The staff through out these admission where less than helpful almost to the point of arrogance.with a distinct lack of care, compassion, and communication.
Prior to admission mam was a bright independent self caring lady with a zest for life.Mam passed away on the 6th April.
My question to Durham University Hospital is
IF my mam hadn't been a 87 year old lady would she had been afforded the same care as someone younger.
"Health care for all irrespective of age"
