"Excellent stabilisation and care of my Mum"

About: Arrowe Park Hospital / Accident and emergency

I am writing to say how pleased I was with the process my Mum underwent when she was brought into a and e. The staff worked through the night to stabilise her condition despite explaining how very poorly she was and us wishingno resuscitation in the event of heart failure.

I got family to come as quickly as possible and we were able to be with Mum as they monitored and gave her medication etc. By the end of the night they had stabilised her to the extent she was able to be admitted to the ward. She was very poorly but was able to rally enough to say her goodbyes to her sister and granddaughters as well my sister, brother and myself. She passed away peacefully on the Monday but I know she had the very best support during her last days and hours. Thank you.

Firstly, please accept our condolences for the loss of your mother.

As this must be a difficult time for you and your family, with much to arrange, it is particulary thoughtful of you still to take the trouble to post such kind and encouraging comments about the care given by the ED staff, and later on the ward. I am so pleased that the team was able to make your mother comfortable and to support you all in being able to say your goodbyes. I have passed your thanks on to the ED matron so that she may in turn feed back to her team.

Thank you again.
