Dear Sir,

I have recently spent 8 weeks under treatment, for cancer of the mouth, at your hospital, and have been released to go home.

I would like to take this opportunity to praise both the doctor and ward/nursing staff as follows:

• I was attended by the Ear, Nose and Throat and the Plastic Surgery Departments. From the first visit on February 12th, up to my release from hospital on May 7th all doctors showed the highest level of knowledge, capacity, clarity, care and awareness that allowed my stay to be as easy and comfortable as possible. It should be noted that my initial operation was followed by 4 additional ones to correct problems caused by my body rejecting the treatment. At all moments the teams kept me as informed and aware of my situation so as to allow me to have a peaceful stay in hospital.

• I stayed in the 11th Floor South Plastics Ward for my stay after coming out of the Intensive Care ward. I can only say, that even today I sit and remember the level of care, affection and treatment I received on both these wards. The staff on the 11th Floor South Plastics Ward , from the person who cleaned through to the ward sister were of the most exceptionally high standard. One was left with a feeling of really being looked after and that you were really important.

I believe it would not be correct to point out individuals (although there are) as I feel that the excellence of the treatment comes from the whole. I have travelled the world and seen many things, but in terms of hospital/medical attendance I have never seen or experienced anything that even comes close to your level of excellence.

CONGRATULATIONS, you have three very special areas within your hospital with exceptional people.
