"nothing during our visits"

About: Livingstone Hospital

What I liked

nothing during our visits

What could be improved

training of staff

Anything else?

3 of us on two separate visits to a friend with full mental ability, sophisticated but a little deaf..

We felt a culture of off-handishness existed and a lack of courtesy and dignity to patients , a brusqueness and loud mouthness in some cases. A nurse was noted to be "too busy" when asked by a patient for help to visit the toilet. A patient who had missed her cup of tea because she was in the toilet was told she must wait (some hours) until the next serving. We learnt that on one day of our visit they had run out of incontenance pants and a patient would have "to wet yourself". The person whom we visited had had a mess up with her tablets that day. We made comparison with our good experience at Darent Valley and can only hope that some vigourous trarining and firm leadership will be applied here before we could get any near to recommending this place.
