"Ultrasound department - Rockingham Wing"

Rude staff. No return phone call from numerous answerphone messages left. When you do speak with someone, you don't receive the return call as promised. Vague, inexplict answers given. Reception staff seem to have no real clue as to what is going on, and extremely unhelpful, unable to answer direct simple questions. 21 weeks pregnant and still no one is able to give any indication as to when I can expect a date for my 20 week scan. I was today advised they aren't booking them today. The whole situation is unnecessarily stressful, but from my previous experiences with the hospital, not unexpected

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback and I am sorry that the ultrasound department fell below your expectations.

In recent months, the department has experienced extremely low staffing levels both clinically and clerically. This has been compounded by an increase in workload both in obstetrics and gynaecology.

In response, extra staff have been appointed to the admin team and the whole system is undergoing change, this may explain some of the uncertainty that you experienced. We are also in the process of changing the phone system to a queuing system rather than answerphone service. With regard to not being able to book your appointment at the time on the phone, we often have to wait to find out if staff are available to scan before confirming an appointment. We anticipate this situation improving in the course of the next few months as we are appointing more clinical staff.
