About: Spire Roding Hospital

What I liked

I initially attended this hospital as an NHS- referred patient for a minor operation. I needed an urgent follow-up operation and chose Spire Roding not only because I would be treated quickly but also because I was impressed by the quality of treatment there.

As it is a privately funded hospital it was well staffed. Staff were attentive to needs and responded very quickly to requests (there is an intercom system, which is helpful). There was a variety of specialist staff. The hospital was kept very clean and rooms (which were private) were carpeted. Food was good (menus were provided). I had to pay for my second operation but the cost was not unreasonable.

What could be improved

I did wonder about the practicality of carpets in patients' rooms, however comfortable. They can't easily be washed and disinfected.
