I think the ENT service at East Lancashire Hospitals Trust is pretty good.
Last Summer I had a septoplasty and reduction of the turbinates for hearing problems - it all seems to have gone well - Mr Morrar did a good job from my perspective. I thought the whole experience was good. I was referred to ENT at the Royal Blackburn for hearing checkups and I thought that the service was very efficient - the staff were helpful and we didnt have to wait long; with a good result.
Only criticisms are:
(1) the reception staff need to be more friendlier and approachable - they seemed to be bogged down at the computer and didnt say anything to us while we were waiting - not even a "hello, hold on a minute" (it felt a bit like I was imposing, which is ridiculous)
(2) considering it is a hearing related department - the audiologist called everyone's names out for their hearing checks - i would have preferred an LED sign flashing my name to appear like they do in GP surgeries - I spent the whole time worrying that I would miss hearing the audiologists call because I am (as you would expect) deaf.
