"Excellent care"

About: Macclesfield District General Hospital

I have been under the care of the Urology dept for several months now.

Following a high PSA result, I was diagnosed as having prostate cancer.

I had an MRI scan at Macclesfield and biopsies taken at Stepping Hill.

Although I was warned that the biopsies would be uncomfortable, I really didn't feel anything.

The doctor and nurse were friendly and took care to explain everything.

I saw the surgeon, and also discused radiotherapy with another specialist.

I chose to have robot assisted radical prostatectomy, in December 2016.

I have recovered well.

Subsequent meetings with the surgeons have been timely and have put my mind at rest.

My cancer has gone.

All the staff at MDGH have been great.

Please accept our sincere thanks for taking the time to comment on your experiences while being cared for by the Urology department. It's great to hear you were so pleased with the service provided by staff here at Macclesfield Hospital.

I will feed back your comments to the department concerned and I'm sure it will mean a lot to them. Thank you once again.
