The audiology department was at the Edith Cavell site when I was given my NHS hearing aid.
The clinic subsequently supplied me with replacement batteries.
With the new Peterborough District Hospital there was an office on the first floor in the Head, Neck and Eyes section that dealt with this essential service.
It then moved to the out sourced NHS walk in centre on Thorpe Road however the telephone number given by the person on the main PDH switchboard rang without answer.
Eventually I managed to get through to the Head Office of the contractor and my problems were over.
A most pleasant person dealt with my request for batteries. and they sent a supply by post.
Unfortunately that telephone number is not listed anywhere it could be given by the PDH switchboard quite easily.
Though out sourced it is still an NHS provision.
The website information on 53 Thorpe Road is ZERO.
WHY IS THIS....???
I consider the present situation at 53 Thorpe Road or advising the public of its services not fit for purpose. This must alter and very soon.
I confirm that the factual statements within my review are true to the best of my personal experience and the opinions expressed are your my own honestly held opinions.
