"Countess of Chester Jubilee centre utterly..."

About: Countess Of Chester Hospital / General surgery

This hospital centre is disorganised to such an extent that I have totally lost confidence in their ability to provide the care and expertise needed even for minor surgery.

I attended for a minor op today and my appointment time was 12.30.

I arrived at 12 10 and waited and waited and waited.

I had my blood pressure taken at 14.10.

I then waited for a further hour before I was called in again at 15.08 to have a further assessment of my arm.

At 16.30 I was then told that I would have yet a further consultation with an orthopaedic surgeon prior to my operation.

I was asked to change into robes and wait to be called into theatre.

Further assessment did not happen as the orthopaedic surgeon was not available and I was told to go home and wait for a letter for another appointment.

I left the Jubilee Centre at 17.02.

I had waited all afternoon only to be sent home without my operation.

This is not a funding problem!

It is a basic lack of common sense, organisational skills and a total disregard for the patient!

Other patients were similarly affected.

Ultimately, If they cannot keep to a simple time scale then it is questionable as to whether the standards are good enough in other more important areas such as surgery.

I am disgusted with this hospital. The mayhem that took place today means that I will need to look for an alternative hospital to hopefully provide the necessary proper care that is essential. I have no confidence in this hospital whatsoever.
